Bee Decor
When we think of bees, we think of yellow and black. There are many variations, like warm gold, honey orange, organic green, earthy brown, or sandy tan.
Use the simple rule of decorating: 50-40-10: 50% main color, 40% secondary color, 10% accent color. For example: 50% yellow, 40% white, 10% black.
Another option is monochromatic decor in many shades and textures of one or two colors. Think 4-5 shades of yellow and cream in several patterns and textures with a few splashes of black. Patterns that work well with this style are polka dots, heavy stripes, thin stripes, and solids.
Another option to try is the color of your choice with black and splashes of yellow. For example, 50% pink with 40% black and simple splashes of yellow (10%).
No matter which one you choose, remember that this theme does best with either organic and natural colors or bright and vibrant colors. Not both. Soft creams and warm golds or striking yellow and black.
For a cohesive look, try a tablecover with a table runner in the center. Themed plates, napkins, and cups will pull the theme together. For an especially festive table, set each place with a custom activity placemat, a charger, and plate. For this table setting, I used small lanterns adorned with gold flowers and yellow bows. Simple honeycomb decorations are inexpensive and suit this table perfectly. A banner on the wall in the same theme and balloons in coordinating colors complete the festive look.
